JazzCash and easypaisa payment collection: what has been reported
JazzCash and easypaisa payment collection through aggregators has been reported as suspended, days before the 11.11 sale season. TechJuice reported this week that both wallets stopped collecting payments for all payment aggregators after instructions from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), that the halt remains in force, and that there is no confirmed timeline for restoring it.
An aggregator is the company in the middle: it lets a website accept wallet payments without a direct deal with each wallet. If your Shopify store takes JazzCash or easypaisa through a payment gateway, your wallet option may depend on one of these companies. Ordinary COD is not affected by this.
The background is an FIA investigation. A case was registered around 24 September 2026 by the FIA's Faisalabad circle over suspected online gambling payments. Reports put the transaction turnover at about Rs 119.93 billion, with about Rs 8.586 billion moving through five collection accounts in about 10.5 million transactions. Daily Pakistan notes that this figure is turnover, not independently established gambling revenue or proven criminal proceeds. The case is still under investigation.
Trouble for merchants began earlier. TechX reported that processing delays and settlement problems at six intermediary firms started on 5 October 2026 on easypaisa's merchant side. Reports also say JazzCash closed or suspended more than 100 aggregator accounts, and some put the total above 300.
What is confirmed and what is not
Be careful with this story, because much of it rests on unnamed sources. We found no public statement from the FIA, the State Bank or either wallet confirming the suspension or giving a return date. Here is how the reporting stands as of 6 November 2026.
| Question | What reports say | How firm is it |
|---|---|---|
| Is all aggregator collection stopped? | TechJuice says yes, for all aggregators | One outlet, no official statement quoted |
| Are personal wallets down? | No. TechX and Pakistan Observer say ordinary wallet use and person-to-person transfers continue | Reported in October; TechX says this is not a nationwide outage |
| Are merchant settlements delayed? | Yes, on easypaisa channels from 5 October | Several outlets, based on industry sources |
| Which stores are hit? | No list published | Unknown. It depends on your gateway |
| When will it return? | No confirmed timeline | Nothing official found |
So do not assume your store is affected, and do not assume it is safe. Test it today. We also found no report of ordinary online sellers being accused of anything. The investigation is about suspected gambling payments, not normal stores.
Which problem do you have? Four cases
Our own checklist. Place one small test order with each wallet, then find your case below. Each case needs a different response, and treating them all the same is how sellers lose money.
| What you see | What it likely means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Wallet option fails or times out at checkout | Collection is off on your gateway | Hide the option today. Show Raast or bank transfer, plus COD |
| Customer paid, gateway shows success, money not in your bank | Settlement delay | Ask the gateway for a written date. Plan cash without this money |
| Customer says money was deducted, gateway shows failed or nothing | Payment did not reach you, or is stuck | Do not ship yet. Get the transaction ID and send it to your gateway |
| Test order works and money arrives on the usual day | You are not affected for now | Test again every two days and keep a backup ready |
What it costs: a Rs example
Example, with illustrative numbers rather than real store data. You get 300 orders a month and 60 of them (20%) are paid by wallet. Your average order is Rs 3,000. Your RTO rate is 15%, and a return wastes Rs 500 in round-trip shipping. You make Rs 600 profit on a delivered order.
First, the cash problem. Those 60 orders bring in Rs 180,000 a month, or about Rs 6,000 a day. A 10-day settlement delay ties up about Rs 60,000. A 20-day delay ties up about Rs 120,000. That is stock money you may be counting on for 11.11.
Second, the order problem. If the wallet option disappears, where do those 60 customers go? The table shows three outcomes for one month.
| Outcome | Working | Monthly cost |
|---|---|---|
| All 60 move to COD | 9 extra returns x Rs 500 | Rs 4,500 |
| 45 move to COD, 15 leave | 6.75 returns x Rs 500 = Rs 3,375, plus 15 x Rs 600 = Rs 9,000 | Rs 12,375 |
| 45 pay by Raast, 15 move to COD | 45 x about Rs 30 fee = Rs 1,350, plus 2.25 returns x Rs 500 = Rs 1,125 | Rs 2,475 |
The gap between the second and third rows is Rs 9,900 a month for a 300-order store, and that is the value of having a backup ready. The Rs 30 fee assumes 1% on a Rs 3,000 order, the example rate Dawn used for merchant payments, so ask your own bank. We have also ignored the gateway fee you no longer pay, so the third row is slightly overstated. Put in your own numbers.
If more orders move to COD this month, watch returns closely. RabbitROI shows RTO rates by courier, city and product, so you can see where the extra COD orders are coming back.
What to do this week, before 11.11
- Today: place a small test order with JazzCash and easypaisa on your live store and note which case above fits.
- Today: send your gateway the questions below and ask for answers in writing.
- Check your gateway settlement report against your bank statement for every day since 5 October. Note any amount that has not arrived.
- Set up the backup. Register a Raast ID or merchant QR on your business bank account. SBP rules say customers cannot be charged for Raast merchant payments, and about 3.8 million merchants are now QR-enabled, so customers are used to it. Ask your bank for the merchant fee in writing.
- If the wallet option fails, remove it and change the checkout wording. Offer Raast or bank transfer at the order confirmation stage, and keep COD open.
- Do your 11.11 stock order on the cash you actually have, not on money sitting in settlement.
- Before dispatching a prepaid order, check that the money arrived in your bank app or shows as successful on your gateway. A screenshot is not a payment.
- Keep store money in a business account. Do not ask customers to send store payments to a personal wallet as a quick fix. TechJuice reports that betting payments in this case were disguised as ordinary person-to-person or business transfers, so you want a clean record that links each payment to an order.
Copy-paste messages
To your gateway:
- Is JazzCash collection working on our account today? Is easypaisa?
- If not, from which date did it stop, and what is your expected return date?
- Are any of our settlements on hold? Please share the amount and the expected date.
- Who handles a customer whose money was deducted but whose order failed, and how long does a refund take?
To a customer whose wallet payment failed: Sorry, wallet payment is having a problem at the moment. You can pay by Raast or bank transfer to our business account, or choose cash on delivery. Your order is saved. Please do not pay twice. If money was deducted, send us the transaction ID and we will check it.
What to watch next
Watch for three things: an official statement from JazzCash, easypaisa, the FIA or the State Bank; a notice from your own gateway; and whether reports start naming a return date. Until then, treat wallet checkout as something that may fail on any given day and keep your backup live through the end of the sale season. We will not guess at a date, and you should be wary of anyone who gives you one without a source.
FAQ
Why are JazzCash and easypaisa payments not working on my website?
TechJuice reports that both wallets suspended payment collection for all aggregators after FIA instructions. If your store uses a gateway for wallet payments, ask it whether your account is affected. No official list of affected stores has been published.
Are personal JazzCash and easypaisa accounts blocked?
Reports say ordinary wallet use and person-to-person transfers have continued, and TechX said it was not a nationwide outage. These reports are from October, so check your own account.
When will the service come back?
TechJuice says there is no confirmed timeline. We found no official date from either wallet, the FIA or the State Bank as of 6 November 2026.
What should I use instead of a wallet at checkout?
Raast or a direct transfer to your business bank account is the simplest backup, with COD kept open. SBP rules do not allow customers to be charged for Raast merchant payments, but your bank may charge you a merchant fee.
Does this affect cash on delivery?
Not directly. COD is collected by your courier, not through wallet aggregators. But if customers move from wallets to COD, your return rate may rise.
